An Amazing Result Thrusts Canuck Racing into Div 6

Written by Canuck Racing at 22:02 23/8-2010

Andrew Cantarutti, manager of Canuck Racing, strategically chose Criterium la Aups in hopes of maximizing the team's result. And boy was he right!

After leading the attack up the final climb, the squad allowed Damon Maze and veteran team-mate, Edwin O'Dieter, to separate from the rest of the peloton. No one could hang on to Damon's wheel as he zoomed passed the finish line in 1st place! However, soon after that, Edwin O'Dieter caught up with a rival cyclist. They battled for supremacy all the way through the sprint, but Edwin came out on top, finishing 2nd overall. Following these two were the rest of the peloton, where Canuck Racing was setting the pace. The rest of the team all placed in the top 9!

  The final result: 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, and 9th

By far, the squad's best result to date.

Damon Maze said later in an interview, "It was a tough day today, but with the result of it, it suddenly feels like nothing. I'm so happy I won today. I didn't expect it at all."

The rest of the team commended there manager for such brilliant tactics and wonderful race selection.
